Quiet Waters Tank II is intended to be worn fitted in the chest. The tank has A-line shaping allowing for a gentle drape and looser fit when it hits the top of the hips. Select a size to fit your full chest measurement with little to zero ease.
Quiet Waters Tank is worked from the top-down beginning with the left and right back shoulder straps. The left and right back shoulder straps are worked separately and shaped with German short rows and neck shaping. Both straps are then joined by the back neck cast on. The upper back is then worked until the underarm shaping is completed. The live stitches are placed on waste yarn or a stitch holder and the piece is turned so that the left and right front shoulder stitches can be picked up and worked from the cast on edge of the upper back shoulder straps. These too are shaped with German short rows and can be worked simultaneously or separately. The front neckline is shaped and then both sides are joined with the front neck cast on. The front is then worked flat, and the underarm shaping is worked to match the upper back. Once this shaping is completed, the front and back are joined together at the underarms, and the lower body worked in the round. Increases are worked on each side of a designated “seam” stitch to create the A-line shaping to the hem. The hem is finished with an Applied Lace Bind-off resembling a wave pattern. The neck edge and armhole are finished with an I-cord Bind-off.
