Anchors Aweigh is a tribute to my son and to Annapolis, Maryland, the town I’ve called home
for over 35 years. A triangle shawl with a center panel of lace anchor motifs, it pays homage
to the rich history of Annapolis as a working port, sailing capital and the home of the United
States Naval Academy. To complete the nautical theme, Anchors Aweigh is framed with a
perpendicular border reminiscent of the waves that lap the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. A
